A Tiny Glimpse at the Wide Variety of Member Projects

Four Starter Projects. Plan to invest 4-6 two hour sessions completing these projects. Each can be "whittled" with 1 knife. Really! The ONLY tool you really need to get started in wood carving is a good carving knife - one designed especially for shaping wood designs! We will provide painting pointers as well.
A nice relief carving one of members created as a gift for a friend. Our members are inspired by all manner of subject matter.
Nature inspired this hand sculptured whale tail in Black Walnut wood. It was mounted on a hand cut piece of vintage marble as a member's gift to her son.
Imagine creating a piece in 1000's year old Irish Bog Oak. This is a model of a medieval Celtic harp, modeled after the Trinity College Harp (aka Brian Boru Harp), a 14th or 15th century harp housed at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland. One of our members carved it from a small piece of Bog Oak unearthed in County Kilkenny, Ireland.
